Silica series, a kind of acid refractory material, is mainly consisted of scale quartz, calcite, a small amount of residual quartz and vitreous phase. The content of silica is generally above 94% and true density is 2.35g/cm3. It owns resistance of acid slag erosion and good strength in high temperature conditions. Its refractoriness under load is 1620 ~ 1670℃ and it is capable of long-term working under high temperature without deformation. In addition, thermal shock stability of the series is relatively low. | It is mainly used in top spaces of glass furnace (crown, end wall, breast wall, regenerator section), as well as in metallurgical application. Generally speaking, the performance and index of silicon series applied to glass and metallurgical fields are obviously different.
